Acer has just unveiled the cheapest 600Hz gaming monitor that money can buy. The Acer Nitro XV240 F6 is a super-fast display that seems perfect for the competitive esports market, with a ridiculously quick 600Hz refresh rate and a price tag that makes it both an incredible bargain and a huge expense, depending on what you're looking for.
This Acer Nitro XV240 F6 hands-on didn't give us the chance to push it to its top refresh rate and see its full potential in-person.
The Acer Nitro XV240 F6 does have a lot to offer, at least on paper. The 600Hz refresh rate of this screen's TN is the obviously important element here, as it's the highest you'll see in a commercially available gaming monitor at the moment. You don't see many TN s these days, but as our VA vs IPS vs TN guide explains, fast refresh rates still make them an appealing option for competitive use, although the average gamer might struggle to physically see the benefits of using a 600Hz refresh rate while they play.
The emphasis on this display is performance, which is why it only ships with a 1,920 x 1,080 top resolution, which is still the standard in esports. The 24.1-inch IPS display also comes with two HDMI 2.0 ports and a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection, but you're going to need DisplayPort to hit as high as 600Hz.
However, there are potential compromises to be made here. TN s aren't typically rated highly for either color accuracy or contrast, but my colleague Edward Chester's hands-on with the Nitro XV240 F6 saw him describe the TN as looking "plenty colorful and punchy." However, colors and contrast are still going to look poorer compared to what you might see on a top-spec VA or OLED display.
It's also important to point out that a 600Hz refresh rate is going to be a performance drain that only the best graphics cards will be able to handle.
If you're serious about competitive esports and like the sound of that eye-catching 600Hz refresh rate, though, this might be the monitor for you, as it's now the cheapest 600Hz gaming monitor you can buy, with competitors such as the BenQ Zowie XL2586X+ costing $999.99.
That's $300 more than this Acer display, but the $699.99 price tag is still quite steep. All in all, the average gamer is going to be better suited by choosing a decently priced OLED with a bigger , such as the AOC Agon Pro AG276QZD instead.
You can pick up the Acer Nitro XV240 F6 in North America for $699.99 starting this month, with launches in China and EMEA countries planned from Q2 and Q3 2025, respectively.
