In what I can only describe as an incredible surprise, Ubisoft and Behaviour Interactive are working together on an Assassin's Creed Shadows and Dead by Daylight crossover event. The Rainbow Six Siege and Far Cry developer already teased a "special collaboration" for the end of May, but now we know that The Fog and feudal Japan are coming into with one another.
Ubisoft has some big plans for RPG's special collaboration. It's Dead by Daylight.
"Step into The Fog," Ubisoft writes on Twitter/X. "A new Dead by Daylight quest begins. Slip through the shadows. Survive the ordeal."
There's just one problem: it's not entirely clear if this is a DBD event inside Assassin's Creed Shadows, or the exact opposite. Plenty of the comments also can't decide if this is skins for Dead by Daylight or a quest for Assassin's Creed Shadows, so I've reached out to Ubisoft for clarification. In the meantime, however, I think we can take an educated guess.
For starters, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed is the one that posted about the collaboration, with DBD's social channels retweeting it. On top of that, the AC Shadows roap has been teasing its "first special collaboration" for some time. The biggest piece of evidence in my mind, however, is DBD's own May roap. Behaviour Interactive posted a week-by-week look at the game's May content shortly after Ubisoft's announcement, and it makes no mention of Shadows at all.
So if you'd been hoping for Yasuke and Naoe outfits in Dead by Daylight, I wouldn't hold your breath. It looks like there's going to be some sort of DBD quest in Assassin's Creed Shadows instead.
The Assassin's Creed Shadows and Dead by Daylight collaboration event is releasing on Tuesday May 27.
