The latest Assassin's Creed Shadows update makes a sneaky but crucial change to the parkour system, one that Ubisoft seemingly tried to slip by players. The Far Cry and Rainbow Six Siege studio has a huge roap of plans for its feudal RPG, but its that it just couldn't wait to include a "subtle increase" to free running ahead of time. You won't find these improvements in any patch notes, but luckily there's footage of exactly what's changed.
With Title Update 4, Ubisoft is taking RPG throughout the year. In May, you can expect some further improvements to the game's parkour systems, but it looks like Ubisoft just couldn't wait until then.

"Community parkour expert 'Ropotopolous' spotted an early tweak to parkour with Title Update 4," Ubisoft writes on Twitter/X. "Our parkour devs just couldn't wait and added a subtle increase for consistently maintaining vertical height when free running.
"You should notice greater reliability for maintaining vertical height while parkour pathing," Ubisoft adds in the comments of Ropotopolous's video (via GamesRadar). "This lays the groundwork for our height-gaining side and back ejects update later this month – we hope you enjoy the early changes."
You can see all of Ubisoft's parkour improvements in the video above, where Ropotopolous plays around with what's changed. Ropotopolous says object targeting feels more consistent and predictable, with ejects prioritizing foot landings over hand ones. Ubisoft's parkour update in late May will come with even more improvements, but you can't argue with a nice surprise like this.
