Activision and Treyarch confirmed today that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will launch on Blizzard's Battle.net service. The developers promise this will be most PC-focused title in series history, and are working with Beenox to deliver on expectations for the port. Blizzard have consulted on the project, as well.
It will be fully integrated with all Battle.net's social features, so all your existing friends in Blizzard games and Destiny 2 will be right there when Black Ops 4 launches.
This version is custom-built for the PC, tested across a wide variety of hardware configurations with plenty of scalability options. The developers say everything from the UI to the recoil systems have been tuned with mouse and keyboard control in mind.

The PC port will allow uncapped framerates, and include for 4K, HDR, and ultrawidescreen monitors. This version will also continue to feature dedicated servers.
Treyarch co-studio head Dan Bunting says they've wanted to focus on PC as its "own unique platform" for some time, and the Black Ops 4 port is the culmination of efforts to "give PC gamers what they deserve."
You can see a bit more of their promises for the PC port in the trailer below. Jeff Kaplan makes an appearance to say that Blizzard consulted with Treyarch during the development of Overwatch, which was the studio's first FPS title.

Seeing Call of Duty jump to Battle.net for its PC iteration isn't entirely surprising, since Activision also made it the home for Destiny 2 last year. Unlike Destiny 2, however, you won't have to wait any longer for the PC port. It'll launch alongside the console versions on October 12.
