Wow, is it almost time for Season 4 already? The Black Ops 6 era of Call of Duty seems to be zooming by, but it does at least mean another wave of content will flood the game very soon. While it's not the most extraordinary season I've ever seen Call of Duty produce, it's still a solid offering with plenty of new weapons, modes, and maps (including a remaster of one of my favorite CoD arenas). While Zombies fans may be disappointed to hear that there won't be a new round-based map for them in Black Ops 6 Season 4, there is at least a surprising, long-forgotten mode making a comeback after more than 12 years of absence.
Let's start with what's going down in were recently datamined from Black Ops 6. Suspicious, eh?
Elsewhere, we'll have to give our best Black Ops 6 loadouts guide a reshuffle because several new guns are ing the arsenal. Two of Black Ops Cold War's most popular weapons are going to be unlockable via the Season 4 battle : the LC10 submachine gun, and the FFAR assault rifle.
More classic guns from CoD games past will be available as event rewards, such as the Essex Model 07 (a marksman rifle from Black Ops 4) and the Olympia (a double-barreled shotgun first seen in the original Call of Duty Black Ops). The lack of newly designed weaponry is a bit disappointing, but it will be fun to use these memorable guns once again.

We've been waiting a while to see it added, but One in the Chamber is also arriving midway through Season 4 as yet another game mode. This CoD staple just has to feature in every game at some stage, so it's nice to see it finally arriving in BO6.
Speaking of modes, let's talk Zombies, because it's reviving an experience we haven't had in well over a decade. Last seen in Black Ops 2, Grief is returning. For the unaware, Grief puts a competitive spin on Zombies by placing two teams in the same map. While you can't directly damage your opponents with bullets, you can slow them to make them more vulnerable to zombies. You can also strategically choose to open certain pathways, lead trains of zombies towards your opponents, or block them as they try to evade swinging undead limbs. Essentially, the goal is to out-live the other team and make life as difficult as possible for them. Grief will be playable on small sections of all the currently released Zombies maps.
While it's an unexpected surprise to see Grief back, there doesn't seem to be a new round-based experience in Season 4. In Treyarch's defense, it's already sured my expectations when it comes to Zombies content, with five round-based maps shipped already, but there's a tinge of sadness we won't be seeing number six this season.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 4 launches on Thursday, May 29 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST. For the full breakdown of everything coming in Season 4 in BO6, and Warzone too, head to the official CoD blog post here.
