Playing Counter-Strike 2 on the Steam Deck isn't a challenge, but without controller , it may be best to aim your sights to playing on the PC instead.

Is CS2 Steam Deck compatible? While Valve's handheld may not be the most competitive way to play Counter-Strike 2, the Steam Deck more than gets the job done when subbing in for your PC, allowing you to engage in a few rounds of Arms Race.

Is CS2 Steam Deck compatible?

Yes, Counter-Strike 2 is compatible on the Steam Deck, and has received a 'playable' commendation from Valve.

Counter-Strike 2 has replaced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with the newest entry in the series having arrived as a free update. As of now, CS2 has been stated as 'Playable' on the Steam Deck by Valve. The competitive first-person shooter just misses out on being fully 'verified', as some in-game text is illegible on the Steam Deck's 1280 x 800 sized screen.

Although Counter-Strike 2 is playable on the Steam Deck, it doesn't currently have controller for the handheld, meaning you can't access in-game menus or play the game through use of the handheld's D-pad or thumb sticks. For the time being, if you plan on playing CS2 on the go, we recommend using a Steam Deck dock, or via Bluetooth.
