Extraction RPG Dark and Darker has been delisted from the Epic Games Store, with developer Ironmace citing claims made during ongoing legal disputes as the cause. The multiplayer game combines co-op dungeon crawling with DnD-style classes and the ability to fight other players to snatch their hard-earned spoils. It was previously made unavailable on storefronts including Steam following legal proceedings with Nexon Games around alleged copyright infringement. It eventually returned to Steam alongside the Epic Games Store in mid-2024, but has now been pulled from the latter.
"Epic Games has decided to delist Dark and Darker from the Epic Games Store," Ironmace writes in a new post on Discord. "The decision appears to be based on claims made by opposing parties in an ongoing legal dispute. We are currently working to understand the exact reasoning behind this removal."

In February, a South Korean court ruled that Ironmace did not commit copyright infringement against publisher Nexon in creating the multiplayer RPG, but was liable for 8.5 billion won (approximately $5.9 million) over infringement on trade secrets.
Ironmace also notes that the removal process appears to be ongoing. The base version of Dark and Darker is no longer listed on the Epic Games store, but the Dark and Darker: Legendary Status is still available for purchase. "Please be aware of this potential confusion," it warns.
"In preparation for the possibility that Dark and Darker may no longer be playable on Epic Games, we are working on alternative solutions to ensure that players can continue enjoying the game," Ironmace concludes. "We will share more details as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
At the time of writing, Dark and Darker is still available on Steam. The free PC game allows anyone to play, with the ability to purchase Legendary Status for $30 / £23.25 to unlock 'High Roller' dungeons, additional character slots beyond the first, the ability to sell items via its trading post, and a shared stash across characters.
