Rust, Elden Ring, World of Warcraft – if you want to beat the heck out of an opponent in PvP, there are plenty of options. But sometimes the world needs healing. Sometimes we all just need to band together and get along. Last Epoch is a great PvE RPG. Despite its recent tribulations, Path of Exile 2 is a good co-op adventure, too. But when it comes to Dark and Darker, the esoteric 'extraction RPG' by Ironmace, historically, you've either had to kill other players or not play at all – until now, that is. Dark and Darker Season 6 has just entered early access, and it introduces a new mode that is designed entirely around PvE.
RPG has been totally PvP-based until now, earning occasional frustration from fans who want a different way to play. Alongside the PvE mode, Season 6 also introduces a litany of other improvements and changes.

Monster difficulties and risk-and-reward balancing have been adjusted for every Dark and Darker game mode, and there are six new shop items available. Four new Inferno monsters have been added in the form of the Demon Imp, the Ghoul, the Demon Fly, and the Hell Maggot, and there are three fresh Inferno sub-bosses: Cerberus, Dreadspine, and Abomination. In order to push players to hunt for and safeguard their own loot, Ironmace has closed the Dark and Darker trade market for the first two weeks of Season 6, which includes the marketplace and the trading post.
The early-access period of Dark and Darker Season 6, which introduces the PvE Adventure Mode, begins today, Thursday April 10. The base game is available completely free, but you can also get the 'Legendary' upgrade at a 30% discount right now, meaning you'll pay $21 / £16.27. You'll find that right here.
