Most popular DBD game mode is coming back and it's ramping up the chaos

Dead by Daylight hasn’t been afraid to try different things with its recent slew of content, and now 2v8 is returning in a new form.

The Dead by Daylight community has known that changes were coming for the revamped 2v8 mode, but now developer Behaviour Interactive has lifted the lid and shown off exactly what fans can expect. Inside a recent developer update post, Behaviour details new killers, classes, maps, mechanics, and more – all of which promise to shake up the mode from its previous, already chaotic incarnation.

The update you'll probably notice first when hopping into this mode is that three new horror game this time around. He'll be the most chaotic too, as his charging ability is faster and easier to steer, but most importantly, it lets you bounce off the other killer.

In addition to that, The Hillbilly gets a buff as his charged chainsaw attack now downs survivors like it does in the main game, trap auras are visible to The Trapper's teammate, and The Wraith will break things much faster than before. On the flipside, The Huntress and The Nurse have received slight nerfs, which is fair as they were pretty powerful in the previous iteration of the mode.

Mechanically, the 2v8 mode won't work exactly like it did before either. Previously, killers would stamp on a survivor to send them to a cage. Now that'll occur when the survivor is picked up, which opens up the possibility for flashlight saves. Generators will also speed up the more survivors are placed in cages, and conversely slow down when generators are completed. This means if survivors are doing well, it'll be slower to do generators, and conversely if the killer team is destroying the opposition, generators will fly.

Classes have been overhauled too, with killers now having their own selection to choose from. Each has a class ability that provides ive bonuses to teammates as well as an effect they can activate and an info ability that grants aura reading or tracking. In addition, survivors will also have an unlock ability they receive after being placed in a cage.

With a ton of new maps to play on as well as an expanded roster of killers and classes, this next 2v8 mode looks like it should be far deadlier and more chaotic than its predecessor.

Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode will return on Tuesday November 12 and will run until Tuesday 26 November. If you'd like to get the full lowdown on what's coming, head over to the announcement post to learn more.
