The higher your roguelike game. Here are some tips and tricks on how to level up fast in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Elden Ring Nightreign leveling up explained
To level up in Elden Ring Nightreign, you need to defeat enemies to earn Runes. Once you've earned enough Runes, head to a Site of Grace and purchase a level up. Depending on how many Runes you've collected, you may be able to level up multiple times. The max level you can reach is level 15, but you should be able to finish most expeditions if you get to level 11.
In the original Elden Ring, you decide where your stats are distributed, whereas Nightreign simplifies the process by making this decision for you. Depending on the Elden Ring Nightreign classes you've selected, the stats you gain with each level up will be distributed to match your character's role. For example, the Recluse's spell casting abilities receive upgrades with each level up by adding to her Mind and Intelligence stats – all you need to do is supply the Runes.
Here's what you need to do to level up fast in Elden Ring Nightreign:
- Hunt bosses for rewards
- Gain ive buffs
- Make a deal with the Scale-Bearing Merchant
- Avoid death
- Equip the right set of Relics
Hunt bosses
Right as you land in Limveld, it's fine to go after regular enemies to gain your first two levels. After that, head to one of the nearby Elden Ring Nightreign bosses like Leonine Misbegotten in the underground area at the castle in the middle of the map. While bosses are harder to fight, they drop substantially more Runes than regular enemies. Additionally, bosses reward you with stronger weapons and ive buffs to raise your overall power level.
There's also a boss drop called 'Rune of the Strong' that rewards you with a lump sum of Runes. This can be extremely useful early on, potentially granting you with enough Runes to acquire multiple level ups in one burst, giving you the strength to take on powerful bosses right away.
ive buffs
One of the ive buffs on offer is the ability to increase the number of Runes dropped by each enemy, though this doesn't always appear as a boss rewards. We highly recommend picking this, especially if you're lucky enough to see it early in your expedition. While it may be tempting to go for a powerful weapon, this buff is quite rare whereas weapons appear frequently, so it's worth grabbing it right away.
Scale-Bearing Merchant
On rare occasions during expeditions, the Scale-Bearing Merchant places a curse on your squad, capping your max HP. If that happens, you can pay the demon to lift the curse. However, you also have the chance to make a deal with the demon with the "Take Runes" option. Selecting this option places a translucent treasure chest on your character's head, granting you additional Runes whenever you defeat enemies. However, this treasure chest slowly drains your health while it's active, so it's not for the faint-hearted.
Avoid death
This one seems self-explanatory, but try not to die. When you fall in battle, your teammates can attack your body to revive you. However, if they aren't successful, you not only lose your Runes, but you also lose an entire level. By the end of the first night, you should aim to be level 6 at the bare minimum. This will keep you on a comfortable track to hit level 15 by the time you hit Day 3 and fight against the Nightlord.
Relics
Every time you end an expedition, you'll receive some Elden Ring Nightreign Relics. These are equipable charms that offer permanent effects to your character, giving you the chance to put together powerful builds. By putting together a strong build for your class, you should have an easier time on your expeditions. Be sure to check out our Elden Ring Nightreign Remembrance guides to see what Relics you can unlock when you experience each classes' story.
Once you've defeated every boss in the game, you can return to the Small Jar Bazaar and purchase the Grand Burning Scene Relic. This is a guaranteed Relic that has the ability to boost Rune acquisition for you and your allies. The additional Runes effect seemingly stacks, so if you have multiple Relics equipped with this ability, you can greatly increase the number of Runes you get whenever you take down enemies.
