An unexpected and (as of the time of writing) unannounced update to The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered is causing frustrating issues with some players' graphics settings. A smattering of reports claim that since this new Oblivion Remastered update dropped, graphics settings have been reset or, in some cases, entirely removed.
Thanks to leaks, the launch of Oblivion Remastered settings at your disposal – but for some players, a new update is throwing a spanner in the works.
While no official patch notes have been released, there are dozens of reports from players accessing the game through PC Game claiming that a small update for Oblivion Remastered went live a few hours ago. After ing it, they've found that all of their graphics settings have been reset to default. The update also appears to have completely removed the option to enable or disable DLSS for some players – something a member of the PCGamesN team, also playing the game through PC Game , has verified.
In a response on Reddit, a Bethesda community manager has confirmed that an update was rolled out for those on Microsoft platforms, but that it was only meant to make "a few backend tweaks and nothing directly impacting gameplay." They then acknowledge that this hotfix has unintentionally caused issues to players' UI.
"Any graphic settings adjusted prior to the Microsoft Store hotfix, are still enabled and function normally," they say. "You'll just be temporarily unable to adjust those settings due to the issue with the settings UI. The team is taking a look and working out a resolution, we will share more info as soon as we can."
So don't panic – nothing in-game has changed, and if you're a PC player with the Steam version of the game, your settings UI should remain bug-free. However, if you are playing through the Microsoft Store, you won't be able to tinker with your graphics settings until Bethesda deploys a fix.
