The world of Escape From Tarkov is a dangerous place. Between the scavs, PMCs, and other players, there are a lot of threats, and death comes swiftly. Whether it's the lowly Tagilla or the mighty Shturman, if you're planning to take on a boss, you need to bring your best gear and most powerful guns. But what if you perfect your loadout, plan your offensive, and then the boss doesn't show up? With Escape From Tarkov 1.0 on the way this year, as well as the Steam edition of the ultra-realistic shooter, Battlestate is finally making a major change to boss battles. The latest Tarkov update is a game changer.
Escape From Tarkov's forums suggested the idea of boss spawn rotations, whereby, each week, one selected boss would be 100% guaranteed to spawn, giving players who want to take them down the opportunity to do so. BSG said it was a good idea, and that it would be implemented after the Labyrinth update. Now, it's here.

This is how it works. Each week, BSG picks a different boss, and on the weekends – just the weekends – that boss is guaranteed to spawn in their usual location. First up, we had Reshala – on Saturday May 10 and Sunday May 11, if you went looking for Reshala and his four or five followers on Customs, you'd be certain to find them. BSG hasn't confirmed yet which boss is up next. However, the studio says that the boss rotation system may change in future wipes, and may not always be available throughout the entirety of a wipe.
The studio also says it's still considering a proposed 'hot loot' system, where, on one map per week, the pool for loose loot would be increased by 50%. Nevertheless, the EFT boss system is definitely much better now. I might finally try to take down Glukhar…
