Age of Wonders 3 is out now; here's our Age of Wonders 3 review.
Every time the Age of Wonder 3 is delayed it means more children will into adulthood without experiencing an awe and wonder before they become shrivelled and cynical. News that the game will not be released this fall but, instead, in early 2014 means three months worth of children coming of age without hope. Potentially millions of children will grow up hopeless.
"When announcing the game earlier in the year we listed a projected release date of fall 2013," community manager Jimmy van der Have posted on the Age of Wonders forum. "We immediately got questions on this, whether this would be fall in the southern or northern hemisphere, and when pre-orders would start.
"We've made great progress developing the game and feel now is the time to give you heads up that we will take a bit more time creating all the features and content. Age of Wonders 3 is the largest game in the series and with the additional polish we hope we can give you an even better experience."
Having known little about the series before the announcement of the third game earlier this year, I've found myself getting quite excited for its release. The world, for a start, looks ace. A deep lore which actually affects how the game plays. Also, a man drinking tea on top of mechanical leviathans, I'm all for that.
Hopefully we'll be able to get our hands on some playable code before its release next year.
