Scrolls is doing well. It's doing so well, in fact, that Mojang's CEO, Carl Manneh, has announced its revenue from Scrolls' first week in open beta has covered all development costs.
Whoa.
From the horse's mouth:
Wow. The revenue for one week of Scrolls in open beta now covers the entire development cost. The game is profitable!

This is more impressive than you may think: all the random scroll packs are exclusively bought with gold, which you can only earn by playing the game. Shards, the currency that you can buy, can only purchase starter decks, single scrolls that are on rotation (but can be bought with gold too) and different cosmetic avatars.
Suggesting that most of the revenue has come from direct sales, £12.95 a piece.
People really like their TCG's.
