Intel-powered handheld gaming PCs such as the MSI Claw AI+ are getting a neat performance boost, thanks to a new power management update in Intel's latest drivers. According to the company, the updated drivers improve the gaming performance on Intel Lunar Lake devices, boosting frame rates by up to 10% in some instances.
If this turns out to be accurate, then this would undoubtedly be great news for gamers who are looking for the best handheld gaming PC running an Intel U, including those from MSI. This update impacts all Intel Core Ultra 200V systems, meaning the improvement will also be found on low-powered gaming laptops using integrated Intel Arc gaming GPUs.
In a Intel Core Ultra 200V systems with integrated Intel Arc 140V and 130V GPUs would see a performance boost via the latest Intel graphics driver (32.0.101.6734) when running "at or under" the default 17W power levels.
Benchmark data, shared by Intel in a graph, suggests a boost to both average frame rates and 1% lows of up to 10% across a number of games released over recent years, from Cyberpunk 2077 to the latest Fortnite season, with performance compared against the older 6732 driver.
