New Inzoi mod tools are set to dramatically expand the Sims rival's potential

Inzoi mod tools will the Sims style life game in May, expanding the community’s creative control as Krafton adds more gameplay depth.

Krafton has outlined how the Inzoi mod tools will look when they arrive later this month, as game director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim discusses the updates the team is currently focused on. While the new life game and Sims 4 rival has largely been well-received, with an 81%-positive Steam rating, its player count has dropped off dramatically, likely as people wait for the early-access game to feel more complete. With that in mind, the introduction of official mod promises to open the door to all manner of interesting creations that could inject new life into the world of Inzoi.

We've already been graced with quite a few Inzoi upgrades and tweaks. The first installment will be rolling out in late May, and will include modding tools for outfit sets and furniture, along with a feature to more easily modify game data. Expect plugins for Maya and Blender, tutorial videos to help budding modders get started, and the ability to share creations through Curseforge.

Currently, the stated roap slates the next mod tools update for September, when we'll get the ability to dig into character features such as faces and hair, and build mode elements including doors, fences, pillars, and windows. There will also be the ability to create "interaction-based content" such as conversations, voices, and the potential rewards. In December, "most outfits" will be made moddable, and you'll be able to edit interaction scripts, adjust stairs, and access localization tools.

In his corresponding blog, Kjun says the team is "exploring new challenges" as it works on building the third city. "We've recognized the community's desire for more gameplay depth and we will work towards offering content with the potential for richer storytelling and more engaging experiences." Expect smaller vehicles such as motorcycles, along with the much-requested ability to personalize your ride.

Kjun warns that "some animations may seem slightly awkward at first," but says that he's excited for players to "experience the thrill of weaving through the city on a smaller ride." Also on the priority list is a continued refinement of the Karma system. "To address the lack of meaningful consequences, we are currently planning new crime-related content that allows Zois to be caught and go to jail," Kjun teases.

"While Inzoi is far from perfect, we are working day and night to make it a true life simulation game through imagination, consideration, and experimentation," Kjun concludes. "Every piece of from each of our players helps point us in the right direction." He adds that the team is planning to speak again soon about the game's use of generative AI, and that it "will continue to prioritize transparency and trust to allow players to continue enjoying Inzoi."

The Inzoi mod kit will launch at the end of May 2025, along with the game's first modding update. You can read through the full preview courtesy of Krafton's Inzoi Studio for a closer look at what will be made available to creators.
