Killing Floor 3 is delayed indefinitely as Tripwire says it "missed the mark"

The Killing Floor 3 launch is postponed to “an undecided date later in 2025” as Tripwire Interactive responds to negative beta .

Tripwire Interactive has postponed the launch of Killing Floor 3 to an unspecified future date, just weeks ahead of its planned release, as it responds to negative player from the recent closed beta. Zombie games have always been a mainstay of PC gaming, and blasting hordes of the less-than-alive with your friends makes for some of the best co-op games on PC. For me, the first two Killing Floor games stand alongside greats like Left 4 Dead 2 and Dying Light – but unfortunately we'll be waiting a bit longer to play the third entry in the series.

Following its recent closed beta test, Killing Floor 3 release date – previously scheduled for Tuesday March 25, just a few weeks away – will now arrive on "an undecided date later in 2025."

"After taking the time to gather and discuss from our recent closed beta, we've realized that we missed the mark," Tripwire writes in a new message to the Killing Floor community. "Our goal isn't just to make Killing Floor 3 an ambitious step forward for the franchise, but also to maintain the core experience that you've come to know and love.

"With the full of our parent company Embracer Group, we're working together on a timeline to address many of the common issues players had during the beta, including performance/stability, UI/UX, lighting, and weapon feel," it continues. "While it's too early to say which fixes will be implemented by launch, we can confirm that an update allowing you to independently select your perk class and character is planned for post-release."

That fix will be greatly welcomed by players; the two aspects being tied together was another major point of concern during the test period. While it's never nice to see games being pushed back, it's always better to have a more complete and well-optimized product at launch, so hopefully Tripwire is able to address the main complaints and deliver something that lives up to the legacy of the series.

"We look forward to another opportunity to show you a more polished version of Killing Floor 3," Tripwire concludes, "and when we're ready to share more details you will be the first to know. Until then, we thank you for your continued patience and overwhelming ."
