Marathon system requirements

With only minimum requirements for now, and no Marathon recommended specs, these still give us an idea of good gaming GPU and U options.

The Marathon system requirements are out ahead of the closed alpha later this month. Bungie's new hero shooter has ramped up its marketing ahead of the closed access period, and now we know what specs your PC will need to meet in order to take part.

You won't need the Marathon release date.

Here are the Marathon system requirements:

Minimum
OS Windows 10 or later
U Intel Core i5 6600
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
Intel Arc A580
VRAM 4GB (Nvidia and AMD), 8GB (Intel)
Storage Not specified
RAM 8GB

Take our Marathon system requirements PC benchmark test to answer the question… Can I run Marathon?

The Marathon minimum requirements are explicitly stated as those for the closed alpha, and not necessarily the full release of the game. Despite this, they are much lower than expected.

You'll need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, or Intel Arc A580 GPU alongside an Intel Core i5 6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 U.

The RAM requirements also only sit at 8GB, which is surprising given how many modern games are starting at 16GB now. Regardless, it's a good idea to future-proof your gaming PC and the best gaming RAM, with at least 16GB in a dual-channel configuration.

The Marathon size is not specified in the closed alpha specs, so we can't speculate on the size of SSD you might need. However, if you want to ensure the best experience possible in of game load times and ensure you have enough storage, we recommend upgrading to one of the best SSDs for gaming.

Once the closed alpha is complete, we expect the Marathon recommended system requirements, and hopefully even some ultra requirements, to be made public. If you plan to play on multiple platforms, you can check out the Marathon crossplay and cross-progression status.
