Skydance Games has delayed its WW2 superhero game, with the Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra launch date now set for early 2026. Originally scheduled to be release sometime this year, the developer says that it needs to take extra time to polish Marvel 1943. Produced and written by Amy Hennig, the creative director on the original Uncharted trilogy, Marvel 1943 was poised to be one of the biggest games of 2025.
Set during the height of the Second World War, superhero game, you play as Captain America, Black Panther, a Howling Commandos Soldier, and the leader of a Wakandan spy network, as they form an uneasy alliance to fight a common enemy. Sadly, though, you'll be waiting a little longer to play this one.
"We have an important update: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will now be launching in early 2026," Skydance Games writes. "Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish, and make sure we give you the best possible experience, and one that lives up to our vision. We have some exciting things in store and look forward to sharing more soon."
Marvel 1943 is being helmed by Hennig, who's known for helping develop some of the most beloved games of the last few decades. She worked as a director and writer on Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2, as well as Naughty Dog's original Uncharted trilogy. Hennig then went to work on Battlefield Hardline and Forspoken, before she ed Skydance Media in its videogame division.
