Metal Gear Solid Delta finally locks in launch date after a slew of leaks

The long, long wait for Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, the stunning remake of MGS 3, will be over in August, Konami has confirmed.

I'm not sure if an game has had release dates and windows leaked more (through official channels, no less) than Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater. The long awaited remake of MGS 3 – arguably the best entry in Hideo Kojima's stealthy series – most recently had an August date appear unintentionally on the PlayStation Store before being swiftly removed. Now, during Sony's State of Play showcase, Konami has confirmed that date was accurate. Metal Gear Solid Delta, at long last, has an officially confirmed date.

I played a couple of hours of stealth game has been a long one.

There were initial hopes that it would arrive in 2024 after being included in a PlayStation blog post highlighting exciting new projects releasing in that year. However, it never arrived. As mentioned, a release date was then mysteriously added to its listing on the PlayStation Store, and given that a Sate of Play was around the corner, it seemed like it would for sure be the Metal Gear Solid Delta release date. Turns out everyone was right.

During the new State of Play, Konami confirms that Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater will launch on Thursday, August 28.

Konami has also treated us to a brilliant new trailer that shows even more iconic Metal Gear Solid 3 characters in their dazzling new forms. You forget just how many amazing (and bizarre) moments are littered throughout MGS 3, but Delta Snake Eater will help those memories come flooding back.

While I will always take original, single-player games you can try to the time.
