What are the best Monster Hunter Wilds mods? There's a good reason the Forbidden Lands are named that way, as Capcom's latest monster-hunting adventure is no joke. Unsurprisingly, the modding community is already hard at work finding ways to offer quality-of-life improvements, performance gains, and even circumvent the game's economy so you can make a mogul of yourself with little effort.
If you've been trying to hunt down the best Monster Hunter Wilds mods list can certainly help you out with that, among other things that may be plaguing your playthrough.
The best Monster Hunter Wilds mods are:
Performance optimizer
MH Wilds' launch performance has left much to be desired, as our Monster Hunter Wilds settings guide can attest to, and if you've also struggled with low frame rates then the Wilds Optimizer mod is a great place to start. Modder 'Vanilla' has already delved into Wilds' config file, making various tweaks that might net you a 10fps+ improvement over the default settings. This mod also promises to reduce U utilization by 10-15%, giving you some much-needed overhead.
All items in shop
While the Shop Items mod from 'Synthlight' doesn't grant access to every piece of purchasable armor and weaponry Wilds has to offer, it does open up the ability to buy every consumable and material the shop sells. This mod also removes the progression gating on certain items, so you can add them to your inventory whenever you want. Of course, it'll cost you a fair wedge of Zenny to cross off your grocery list, which is where the next mod comes in.
Item cost tweaks
The Item Cost mod (also from Synthlight) fast-tracks your progress to earning a zillion Zenny by setting the buy cost for all shop items to one, and the sell price for even the most menial trash you've looted to 99,999. Now, you'll be able to live the champagne lifestyle you've always dreamed of – something that's very handy for our next mod.
No crafting requirements
Doing exactly what it says on the can, Synthlight's third entry into our list, No Crafting Requirements, removes the need to go scavenging for materials to juice up your arsenal. As alluded to above, you'll still need to pay the crafting fee to produce your glistening new gear, but that doesn't matter considering you are giga-rich now. It should also be noted that this mod doesn't unlock higher smithy tiers, so you'll still have some legwork to do.
Stats overlay
If you're a fiend for min-maxing your DPS rotation or are just keen to have as much information about your target as possible, then the MHWilds Overlay mod from 'lingsamuel' is a must-use. It's also a great way to flex on your party if you're top DPS on a hunt, though you can conveniently hide this info in the settings if you're bottom of the heap. Speaking of DPS…
Damage multiplier
Monster Hunter plays to both our power fantasy desires and need to be challenged. While whacking a Rathalos with a big sword makes for peak gameplay, the Damage Adjuster mod from 'Ridog8' allows you to decide just how hard you whack said beastie. Whether you want to cackle maniacally as you swat monsters down like flies, or are hankering for even tougher fights, this mod will let you effectively alter the game's difficulty to your liking.
And those are the best Monster Hunter Wilds we've seen so far. Make sure you check back often as we progress through the post-launch period, as more top-tier mods will undoubtedly become available. In the meantime, check out our comprehensive MH Wilds guides hub for all of your in-game needs.
