The lid has now been fully lifted on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060, with the company revealing that the RTX 5060 release date will be arriving very soon indeed. Sporting speedy GDDR7 VRAM and a 25% uplift in its shader processing ability, all while remaining the same price as the RTX 4060 and adding for DLSS 4 multi-frame gen, it looks strong, although it also only has 8GB of memory.
The new best graphics card for gamers on a tight budget, but while you're waiting for our RTX 5060 review, here's everything we know so far about the new GPU.
RTX 5060 release date
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 release date is Monday, May 19, 2025. In its RTX 5060 announcement, Nvidia revealed that the new GPU will be arriving in the month of May, and the company has now officially confirmed the exact day.
RTX 5060 price
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 price is $299, with Nvidia choosing to keep its new entry-level GPU priced at the same level as the card it replaces, the RTX 4060. While this may disappoint some s hoping for an even cheaper card, the new GPU does offer significant improvements across its specs list, potentially meaning it offers better value than its predecessor, assuming it's actually available at this price when it launches.
RTX 5060 specs
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 specs include 3,840 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM.
RTX 5060 specs | |
CUDA cores | 3,840 |
RT cores | 30 |
Tensor cores | 120 |
Base clock | 2.28GHz |
Boost clock | 2.5GHz |
SMs | 30 |
VRAM | 8GB GDDR7 |
Memory interface | 128-bit |
TGP | 145W |
Nvidia has revealed that the RTX 5060 contains 3,840 CUDA cores in its GPU, which has a base clock of 2.28GHz with a boost clock of 2.5GHz. That means the RTX 5060 has 30 of Nvidia's streaming multiprocessor (SM) units, and 30 RT cores for ray tracing, as well as 120 Tensor cores for AI work such as DLSS and neural rendering.
That's a decent boost in rendering power over the RTX 4060, which has 3,072 CUDA cores and 24 RT cores, giving the RTX 5060 25% more shader power than its predecessor. However, as with the RTX 4060, only 8GB of VRAM will be included with this budget GPU. On the plus side, it's GDDR7, which gives it more memory bandwidth, but 8GB is going to limit its headroom on some of the latest games.
The RTX 5060 also boasts for DLSS 4 multi-frame gen, which can be used to generate up to three extra frames using AI, effectively quadrupling your frame rate. This is now the cheapest card to offer this technology, with AMD's competing FSR technology only able to generate a single extra frame.
