Blackwater Blade

To kick off the quest, take a nap in The Bloated Float: a boat-turned-inn located in the Waterfront District of the Imperial City. Upon awakening, you'll find yourself well and truly at sea, beginning a swashbuckling adventure with two equally satisfying potential outcomes.
Blade of Woe

The best Oblivion Remastered weapon for dagger s is the Blade of Woe. If you're a stealthy stealthster, then ing the Dark Brotherhood is the best move you can make in Oblivion Remastered. As soon as you arrive in Chorrol, you'll be able to take a quest from Valus Odiil that sees you and his sons defend his family farm from goblins. Should both sons survive, Chillrend is yours.
Not only does Chillrend inflict Frost damage, but it also applies Weakness to Frost with each strike. It's already an impressive blade at the beginning of your journey, but if you choose to acquire it later on, the Level 25+ version is right up there with the highest DPS weapons in the game.
Dawnfang/Duskfang
- How to get: Complete the Shivering Isles quest 'Baiting the Trap'
- Enchantments: Fire/Frost Damage, Nourish Blade, Absorb Health/Magicka (Superior)
Easily the coolest weapon in Oblivion Remastered, Dawnfang and Duskfang transform between themselves depending on the time of day in-game, and provide form-specific bonuses. When you first acquire the longsword, you'll have to kill a certain number of enemies to satiate its thirst for blood. When the blade is fully nourished, it'll become 'Superior,' unlocking the Absorb Health/Magicka enchantments. Neat.
Ebony Blade

Frostwyrm Bow
- How to get: Loot the Uderfrykte Matron in The Jerall Mountains, northeast of Cheydinhal
- Enchantment: Frost Damage
The best early game Oblivion Remastered weapon for rangers is the Frostwyrm Bow. As soon as you've exited the sewers, fast travel to the Black Waterside Stables outside Cheydinhal and venture up the Jerall Mountains. Here you'll encounter an invisible yeti-style creature called the Uderfrykte Matron. Kill it, and you'll find the bow on their corpse.
The Frostwyrm Bow delivers a solid 15 points of Frost Damage per hit, which is more than sufficient to get you through the opening phases of the game. At least, until you can pick up the Hatred's Soul.
Goblin Totem Staff
- How to get: Found on the floor in the Plundered Mine, east of Bruma

The best early game Oblivion Remastered weapon for mages is the Goblin Totem Staff. There are multiple locations where you can find one of these, scattered throughout Cyrodiil, though arguably the quickest to retrieve is in the Plundered Mine to the east of Bruma.
Dishing out 20 points of Shock Damage with each swing, the Goblin Totem Staff can make quick work of anything you'll encounter early on. Should you run out of juice and lack the soul gems to refill its charge, go and grab another one from the other tribal outposts.
Goldbrand
- How to get: Complete the Daedric quest 'Boethiah's Quest' (Level 20 required)

Ruin's Edge

While not the best bow on our list by any means, Ruin's Edge is the best-designed by a long shot – what other bow can you make direct eye with as you draw it? Fire aesthetics aside, Ruin's Edge also brings a whimsical RNG enchantment with it, applying a random effect with each shot. Practical? Not necessarily. Incredibly good fun? Absolutely.
Umbra
- How to get: Loot from Umbra in Vindasel
- Enchantment: Soul Trap
Though we've given the title of best early game sword to Chillrend, if you're willing to get a little creative with Bethesda's game logic, then by far and away the best sword you can get at Level 1 is Umbra due to its chart-topping base damage. In fact, if it weren't for Goldbrand's enchantment doing a lot of heavy lifting, Umbra would stand tall as the best sword in the game, full stop.
To get Umbra as soon as you're out of the sewer, head to Vindasel and find Umbra (the NPC). Aggro her and lead her out of Vindasel, back to the Imperial City. Upon entering the city, the guards will attack her. Simply wait for the city's finest to do their job (running away if she toggles onto you), and you'll not only be able to retrieve her sword, but a very nice set of armor.
While Umbra's Ebony Armor is leveled, you'll only get an extra five total armor out of it at Level 15+, so don't feel too bad if you get it sooner than intended.
Witsplinter
- How to get: Loot Faustina Cartia during the quest 'The Siren's Deception'
- Enchantments: Drain Intelligence, Damage Magicka
If you picked any of the birthsign options that made you weak to magic, then you're probably looking for a way to mercilessly dispatch your arcane adversaries.
The good news, if you're a dagger enjoyer, is that Witsplinter exists. Though it won't immediately prevent casting like the Ebony Blade, it will eventually make even the most magnificent of mages crumble thanks to its Drain Intelligence and Damage Magicka enchantments. For best results, become a dagger grabber at Level 25+.
