Red Dead Redemption mod totally overhauls Rockstar's western with more realism

One new Red Dead Redemption mod overhauls the PC version of Rockstar's epic with improved textures and mechanics, and there's more to come.

GTA 6 might be on the way, but right now, the Red Dead Redemption PC port still has our full attention. Rockstar has finally brought John Marston's original adventure to Steam and other storefronts, and that's great news – but if you want to make the 2010 classic look even better, there's a way. An expansive overhaul mod transforms almost every visual aspect of RDR 1, and it's not even finished yet. So shelve those Grand Theft Auto 6 theories, saddle up, and ride on back to Armadillo. Red Dead 1 has never looked so good.

'Reality Redemption' is a GTA 6 release date, this is the next best thing.

Considering how Rockstar improved the original Red Dead Redemption on PC with features like 4K resolution, ultrawide , and more, BadassBaboon's mod is the cherry on top.

"Reality Redemption aims to improve the visual fidelity of this game with better textures, models, and weather cycles, fixing continuity errors, as well as improving its gameplay elements for a more fluid and realistic experience," BadassBaboon writes. You can see all that in action in the video above.

BadassBaboon has even more planned for Reality Redemption, too. Secondary character and building textures, vegetation, trees, time cycles, the weather system, and a whole lot are due for improvement in the future.

You'll find BadassBaboon's Reality Redemption mod right here, but keep in mind that it's still unfinished. As of version 2.2, you can customize what elements you would like to install, and the other parts you want to leave out.
