Scalebound creator Hideki Kamiya seemingly wants to bring back the abandoned RPG

Scalebound director Hideki Kamiya is calling on Xbox boss Phil Spencer to revive the canceled action RPG, years after it was put down.

Scalebound director Hideki Kamiya is calling on Xbox head Phil Spencer to help him bring the action RPG back, years after it was officially canceled. The PlatinumGames title was originally going to be released in 2017, with Microsoft Studios set to publish, but it ultimately never saw the light of day. Kamiya is now working at Clovers on an Okami sequel, but has taken to social media in the hope that Spencer and Microsoft might bring the game back to life.

In a new video from his studio Clovers, Kamiya is filmed reminiscing about Scalebound, and says "I'd love to make it again someday." Kamiya quote tweets the video saying "Let's do it, Phil!" presumably in reference to Xbox head Phil Spencer.

Scalebound is one of those canceled games that's come up a lot over the years, with people from both PlatinumGames and Xbox weighing in on its untimely end and potential future. Back in 2017 Spencer suggested that Scalebound was "both sides failed" the game.
