2025's most surprising Steam success Schedule 1 adds new shops in first update

Crime game and life sim Schedule 1 has become a Steam winner, and TVGS adds a pawn shop, boutique store, and fancy items in a new update.

With no sign of a GTA 6 PC release date, indie crime sim Schedule 1 has slipped into the empty space to become Steam's latest Balatro-style success. The indie game that tasks you with becoming a drug-dealing kingpin has proven itself as more than a mere novelty, with a 98%-positive Steam review score from more than 92,000 s and a consistent player count peak of more than 300,000 keeping it in the upper echelons of the Valve store. In a new update, developer TVGS continues to build on that momentum with a range of additions including a pawn shop and boutique store.

The first crime game, and the opening of the Bleuballs Boutique should give you plenty more ways to do so.

There are lots more additions to watch out for: new signs, shelving, safes, lamps, and a grandfather clock are all on the list, along with six more paintings, gold bars, and even a golden toilet to round out the decoration collection. Three types of liquor have been introduced – TVGS notes that this "is decorative for the time being but will become functional in a future update." Finally, once you've learnt how to make money in Schedule 1 you'll find silver and gold watches and chains to snag to show off your newfound wealth.

Elsewhere, TVGS has ramped up the jar stack size to 20, removed the cooldown on requesting supplier meetings, improved the interface for counteroffers, and adjusted the phrasing in customer recommendation dialogue. On top of that comes some bug fixes. The dev says its next priorities are smoothing out connection issues in multiplayer, ensuring employees keep working consistently, and avoiding save game corruption problems.

All that should give you plenty to keep your criminal empire flourishing until we finally hear word of the best indie games to play in 2025 to help the time as well.
