How do you beat Abstract Daddy in Silent Hill 2? Silent Hill 2 is a story of horror and grief embodied in the lonely, creepy town of Silent Hill, and nothing personifies the fear quite like the varied monstrosities waiting to go in for the kill, from the nurses and mannequins, to terrifying bosses.
The bosses are one of the greatest part of the Silent Hill 2 enemies are perhaps more intense and meaningful. Arguably the most important to the story is Abstract Daddy, so here's our walkthrough of the Silent Hill 2 Abstract Daddy boss fight if you're struggling to defeat him.
Silent Hill 2 Abstract Daddy boss fight
Abstract Daddy chases you through The Labyrinth in the Silent Hill 2 remake, and there are three phases to the fight. Deal damage by shooting Abstract Daddy in the first section, then destroy TVs as you run from him through the second, but save your ammo. For the third, you must again attack the boss with weapons.
Phase one
In the first section of the fight, your best option is to lead Abstract Daddy to the room with a standalone wall in the middle. Run circles around this wall so you can always see Daddy, and force him to jump at you down the long edges before dodging out the way, at which point you have a good chance to shoot. After dealing a few shots worth of damage, the second phase of the fight begins.
Phase two
You don't need to use any ammo during this stage, as this is more about the chase. Instead, you are looking for rooms with TVs in, and you must destroy them with your melee weapon. Follow the corridors until you see Angela hide in a gap in the wall. Continue through the Labyrinth to the first TV room, destroy it, and Abstract Daddy reappears. Run from the boss again until you return to where Angela hid in the wall and go through the gap yourself. This causes a change in the scenery and Daddy disappears again. You'll know when The Labyrinth changes as everything goes black for a moment.
Repeat this process through two more TV rooms, listening to what you can if you want a glimpse into the dark Silent Hill 2 story. After damaging the third TV, a ageway opens up that looks more reminiscent of the original Abstract Daddy scene, and you should follow this through to a room in which you need to finish the fight.
Phase three
Abstract Daddy reappears for the final time when you reach this room, and you must avoid getting too close to him while shooting him to deal damage. It's as simple as that. There is some ammo and health around the room if you need it. If you happen to run out of ammo, wait until Daddy leaps at you and dodge out the way, at which point you can hit him with a melee weapon, but this will be harder and will take longer.
