Does Starfield have new game plus? Bethesda is not known for including new game plus modes in their games – Fallout 3 and 4 didn't feature one, and neither did Oblivion or Skyrim. However, as more RPGs incorporate new game plus as a way to increase replayability, it should come as little surprise that NG+ is available.
Not that you'll necessarily need it here, as there are over 1,000Starfield's length, just the main story runs into tens of hours. Chuck in all the side content and exploration you can do, and you're pushing hundreds of hours if you want to see everything.
What is Starfield new game plus?
Once you finish the main story, you will be given an option to begin the game again, albeit with a few changes. When finishing your first playthrough you have the following options:
- Restart the game with the same character, keeping only your powers and skills.
- Restart the game with your character, powers, and skills but skip the main quest.
- Keep playing your current game with the ability to switch to new game plus at any time.
Traditionally, this means that you can start the game all over again, keeping all of your Starfield skills and experience. Essentially, you start the game with a much stronger character. The artifact locations also change, so on your second, third, or even fourth playthrough you'll have to visit new places to collect them all.
However, there are entire quests that are locked behind the new game plus mode. The main story is mostly unchanged, but there's plenty of side content that isn't available for anyone's first playthrough, meaning your Starfield experience is only just beginning.
