New Witcher 4 'beta test' is a scam, CD Projekt Red warns

CD Projekt Red warns players that the Witcher 4 'beta test' invites making the rounds are a scam, and says they are being dealt with.

CD Projekt Red warns fans that any invites to a so-called Witcher 4 'beta test' are a scam. The developer says if it ever does similar tests in the future you'll first hear about them through official channels, and asks that you report any such invites you receive to ensure they can be swiftly dealt with.  I know we're all excited to learn more about the game, but please be careful out there.

As of right now, RPG early – CD Projekt Red confirms that these invites are completely fraudulent.

"Recently, we've been getting reports from some community that they've been invited to a beta test of The Witcher 4 — this is a scam!" CD Projekt Red writes. "We've been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down. That said, if you receive any invites to or stumble upon news of one, we kindly ask you to report the scam using the tools available to you in your email client or the social media platform you are using.

": professional monster slayers don't fall for scams; they see right through them and slay them! P.S. Should we ever organize any beta tests in the future, you will hear about it first, as always, via our official social media and websites."

The lesson here is, as it's always been: if something on the internet looks too good to be true, that's because it is. So keep a watchful eye out for any Witcher 4 beta invites, because unless CDPR says otherwise, they are not legitimate.
