Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map guide

The Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map is huge, so here’s a quick overview of what you need to know about Creative Assembly's epic strategy sandbox

So you want to know about the Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map? This huge effort by developer Creative Assembly combines the campaign maps of Total Warhammer I, II, and III (with some extra filling in around the edges) to create the ultimate strategy game sandbox in Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy setting.

The Immortal Empires map is so big that our illustrious editor Rich mentioned in his Total War games. It's no wonder Immortal Empires is releasing in beta to being with.

Immortal Empires map overview

Here are some key stats about the Immortal Empires map:

The map also features four dedicated sea lanes, one of which is an 'underworld' lane, to facilitate travel across the map. These lanes allow players on the far western ocean to instantly travel to the far eastern ocean at three points, although the underground sea lane also allows fleets to go underneath Naggaorth and Lustria and access the central oceans easier, without having to sail around the southern tip of the continent or travel overland.

And here's another one showing the Immortal Empires starting positions of all 86 Legendary Lords:

You'll notice that there are some stretches of land that are currently blank. These spots are likely going to be filled in at a later date as more lords and potentially even races are added into Immortal Empires and Warhammer III's 'Realms of Chaos' campaign via we're not likely to see Ind or Nippon in the game, as these are far from official, but Chaos Dwarves and Hobgoblins are some of the last remaining core Warhammer Fantasy races to get an inclusion, and there's plenty of space to insert them.

Now that Immortal Empires is out, you'll be able to check the sandbox out for yourself, but just in case you wanted to take a look before jumping in there's also this walkthrough video that takes on a tour around the key areas in the new mode:
