A lot just happened on Warcraft III's PTR. A new patch adds balance updates, more player , and changes to the map editor.
If Warcraft's not your thing, here are some more of the best strategy games.
Warcraft III patch 1.29 adds widescreen , and extends the game lobbies, which now allow for 24 players in a single game. But on top of that, there are loads of balance changes to heroes throughout the game. You can get a full rundown of all of those changes here – it's a pretty exhaustive list, with changes to no fewer than 17 heroes across the game.
If that weren't enough, there's also changes to the game's map editor. Maximum map size has been increased to 480×480, and the number of objects you can put in those nice big maps has been raised to 30,000. There are also a lot of new natives, but to be quite honest, I'm not really sure what I'm looking at on that front.
Finally, Blizzard have announced the first ever special event that Russian Warcraft III pro Happy was talking about last week. That casts doubt over the possibility of a remaster for the game, but who knows what else Blizzard might have up their sleeves?
