There's been a lot of talk recently about Microsoft's first-party lineup and how slim it is compared to Sony's PS4 plans. Yes, we're a PC site, but these days we get every Xbox One console exclusive on our lovely platform, so it would be great for us is Microsoft looked at Sony's lineup and stepped up their game.
Check out our list of PC games to stay informed of new releases.
It was the cancellation of Scalebound recently that sparked off this conversation, prompting people to put the two console studios side-by-side and compare their releases, and Xbox One is trailing behind.
Xbox head Phil Spencer said Microsoft know they need to take risks, but they clearly aren't ready to announce what those risks are just yet. E3 will be here before we know it, though, and no doubt the L.A.-based gaming show will have some surprises come June – especially with the reveal of Scorpio, Microsoft's 4K-capable Xbox, happening.
During that reveal, Microsoft will likely be announcing some games, and it looks like at least some of them will arrive this year, judging by this tweet:
@Analcletoo XB1 games shipping this year are different for us. not Halo FPS/Gears led, new experiences with different IP, will be fun year

That's the official line, so hopefully we get some exciting new ideas that aren't based around existing brands this year.
Halo Wars 2 is out February 21.
