Thanks to a South Korean government agency and a Vietnamese tech retailer, we have some pretty strong hints that the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT gaming GPU is indeed coming in 8GB and 16GB VRAM editions. While AMD hasn't confirmed any details of the GPU yet, this latest data for ASRock-branded cards is the strongest sign of a double offering ahead of a likely unveiling next week.
After years of RTX 5060 Ti, which also has 8GB and 16GB options, but with the 8GB model largely getting panned among the press, it'll be interesting to see what AMD manages to turn out here.
Regular PC hardware tipster harukaze5719 was the first to spot four different versions of ASRock RX 9060 XT graphics cards receiving certification by the Radio Research Agency (RRA) in South Korea, sharing the links in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The cards are labeled RX9060 XT SL 8GO, RX9060XT SL 16GO, RX9060XT CL 8GO, and RX9060XT CL 16GO, with "SL" likely referencing the brand's Steel Legend model lineup, while "CL" likely refers to its Challenger lineup instead. The 'O' is also a likely indicator that these cards are pre-overclocked, while 8G and 16G are obvious nods to the VRAM capacity.
This isn't the first time we've seen RX 9060 XT cards receive certification at the RRA. Back in March, a series of Asus RX 9060 XT cards received certification, with those models also showing 8GB and 16GB options available. Like these AsRock certs, the RRA information doesn't reveal much, other than confirming the model names and manufacturer data.
Meanwhile, Videocardz has reported that Vietnamese retailer KCCShop is showing each of these same four cards with listings on its website. The cards, such as this Challenger 8GB model, are shown as being in stock and available to buy ahead of launch.
Pricing hasn't been made available yet on KCCShop, with potential buyers instructed to instead the retailer for a quote. These pages are likely to simply be placeholder listings ed ahead of time.
While one retailer's listings aren't confirmation of anything, the RRA's certification of these ASRock cards is a surer sign that they're set for an release. Until AMD officially unveils the RX 9060 XT, of course, nothing is set in stone. However, a recent AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT release date coming later.
Until then, check out our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti review to see how its most likely rival stacks up in the real world.
