Blue Protocol is back from the dead – kind of. After Bandai Namco Online announced that the MMORPG would be closing down in 2025, and the Amazon-published western release was canceled at the same time, another game set within the same IP is gearing up for launch. So while Blue Protocol might remain a distant memory, the Star Resonance will at least provide some much-needed solace.

Bokura has fully unveiled Star Resonance, an MMO that appears to take place in Blue Protocol's world of Regnas. According to a report from Automaton, a closed beta test is coming to Chinese players soon with recruitment open now. That said, there's no word on a full release date for Star Resonance, or whether it will get a global launch outside of China. We never got Blue Protocol in the west, but maybe we'll get Star Resonance.
