New Friday the 13th game possible, Texas Chainsaw Massacre dev could be involved

Based on fresh details, a new Friday the 13th game could be in the works, created with the involvement of Texas Chainsaw Massacre maker Gun.

Okay. We're voyaging to the depths of Crystal Lake on this, piecing together some disparate fragments of information and drawing a possible, could-be conclusion. But stay with me. Dead by Daylight is on the march again thanks to the newly revealed Five Nights at Freddy's crossover. On the other end of the good news-bad news scale, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game is finished for good – it's staying online, but no more updates are coming, as developer Gun says the adaptation has reached its full potential. Meanwhile, as of the very beginning of 2025, the Friday the 13th game, published by Gun, went totally offline. Somehow, though, all of these various series, properties, and horror game rivals may be connected. There's reason to believe that a new Friday the 13th game is coming, and that TCM's Gun could be involved.

So, Horror Inc., the parent company that owns the production on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was done for good, and that the pending May patch would be the last. Keep in mind that Gun published Friday the 13 The Game, the one that went offline at the beginning of this year.

As noticed by YouTuber 'fanci,' who has done a superlative job collating all of this information, as well as announcing the Jason Universe, Horror Inc. has also confirmed a new partnership with entertainment marketing agency Striker Entertainment. In its own statement, published on Licensing International, Striker says that it will "oversee global consumer products for Jason Universe…[which] also includes Friday the 13th The Game."

Wait a second. Friday the 13th The Game was shut down. You can't even buy it anymore. So, what is Striker talking about?

Well, rewind a little further, and back in June 2023, Friday the 13th composer Harry Manfredini gave an interview to Rely on Horror, where he revealed that he was working on music for a new Friday the 13th game – a new Friday the 13th game being produced by a company separate from Gun. Perhaps this is the game mentioned by Striker.

But there's another twist. In June 2024, CineStealth multiplayer game.

Combine that with the fact that Gun has just shuttered production on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and also keep in mind that the reason Gun's Friday the 13th The Game was shut down was because of licensing issues – issues which have seemingly been resolved now that Horror Inc. has started the Jason Universe.

And so, in summary, we have this new Jason Universe. We have a company, Striker, involved in that universe, and saying that it is working on a game that is specifically called Friday the 13th The Game. We have the series composer saying that a new game is in the works, and then a rumor that this is in fact two games.

And then we have Gun, publisher of Friday the 13th The Game, announcing that it is wrapping up TCM on the same day that Striker makes its telltale statement. If you look at all of this in a certain light, it seems possible that Gun is being given another shot at a Friday the 13th game, and has finished up Texas Chainsaw Massacre specifically to make room. We'll have to see.

But just for fun, if you want one more wrinkle to tie the entire world of horror games together, Striker has previously worked on Five Nights at Freddy's and The Walking Dead. We know FNAF is coming to DBD. But based on some sleuthing and speculation, The Walking Dead could be on its way to The Fog, too. Everything is connected!
